The techniques I used on this image is from Vincent Versace’s book, Welcome to Oz.
The book looks promising so I bought it. Initially, I got turned off because the techniques looks laborious but the example images were amazing. I ended up reading the book in parts and in no time, I was understanding the concepts and techniques! I applied some of them in this image.

We attended the 17th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade. I’m still processing the images and might take an hour or two. I promised some people to have the images up by tonight.

It was Halloween alright because I find it a nightmare to shoot! I’m sure a lot of photographers would agree. So many people, the dogs are doing everything except for what you want them to do, the sun was shining bright and shadows was harsh.
Yet, in spite of everything, everybody had a blast! The dogs were entertaining - and some of the owners came all dressed up in costumes to match their dog’s attire! So funny! We didn’t stay long though, we were getting hungry. Still, we were able to shoot a lot of images. I hope you enjoy them.

Are we supposed to be contented on what we have, or strive for more?
I think a balance is important. When we get contented on what we have achieved, stop, savor, then move on and strive for a higher standard. I think this is called progress and change. Unfortunately, some people are afraid of change.
